Dr. Estella Carolye Kuchta (she/her) is a writer, researcher, and postsecondary instructor, and a recent visiting scholar at Maynooth University, Ireland. In June 2025, she was awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal for academic achievement. She is the author of the novel, Finding the Daydreamer (Elm Books, 2020) and coauthor with Sean Blenkinsop of Ecologizing Education: Nature-Centered Teaching for Cultural Change (Cornell University Press, 2024). Currently an executive editor for the Canadian Journal of Environmental Education, she holds a PhD in Education (Simon Fraser University), an MA in English Literature (University of British Columbia), and a BFA in Creative Writing (University of British Columbia). Her current academic research links transrational knowledges, ecological education, and love research. She has worked as a writer and researcher for international management consultants, a research assistant to renowned author Dr. Gabor Mate, and an intern for CBC Radio. She is a long-time member of the International Love Research Network and the international interfaith group Subud.
